My Philosophy:
The passion behind my event Videography is a mixture of family history and entertainment. When I cover a B'Nai Mitzvah I look to preserve the day so it can be enjoyed by future generations of your family. I believe it is an honor to be able to record a time capsule of your special day.
When covering the temple, whether it's the actual service, or a mid week photo shoot, I aim to capture the spirit and unique family traditions for future generations.
I gently speak with the older generations of your family to preserve the memories and traditions that have been passed down through the generations. I ask the Grandparents to speak about their Bar Mitzvahs and see if there are any traditions or objects such as a talis or yad that have been used by past generations of your family.
On occasion, I speak with the parents and I ask them who their children are named after, and why that relative was important to you. Before the service, I speak with your Bar/Bat Mitzvah child to give them an opportunity to explain what the experience has meant to them. I also ask who their teachers were, and what their academic experiences were like. We will also cover other topics such as their community service project.
If it is not allowed to videotape at your temple on the Sabbath, I give the family an opportunity to record any prayers, songs & speeches they like, such as the torah portion and haftorah during a mid week shoot.
At The Cocktail Hour, I like to take time to invite any of the family and guests to record their best wishes, and stories for your child and family. I always ask your guests first if they would like to speak, and if they don't want to speak, that's ok.
At the Reception, I cover all events, and do my best to include all your guests in the video. Over the years, my clients say I captured the spirit of the affair, and captured so many things that they had missed! The day usually goes by so fast, it's like a blur, but the video brings back the sounds and the sights so it will always be right there for you on the video!
The photo/video montage that opens your video is the perfect vehicle for you and your family to express your creativity. There are so many ways to create a unique montage.
It is common to see a photo montage at the reception, but if you add some video footage, and a bit of creativity, you can turn a common montage into a masterpiece! Some clients have written scripts, used voice-overs, and other techniques to make your video stand out from the others. Your montage should be a reflection of your child's personality, and when you see some of the examples on my website, you will see how with a little creativity, we can produce a video that will impress your guests, and be something you will be proud of for many years to come!
